About Mary Alice

I'm Mary Alice Alexander (that's my pen name!) and I am from Boston's charming north shore. After decades as an attorney - a career I often escaped by losing myself in books - I finally broke free to pursue my true loves: writing, reading, and cultivating both gardens and stories.

When I'm not weaving tales of my own, you'll likely find me wandering the streets of Europe or tending to my flower beds, though my family might say my natural habitat is curled up in my favorite armchair with a book in hand. I have an endless appetite for learning and am constantly collecting stories, both on paper and through my travels.

My greatest joy is my six wonderful adult children who never fail to surprise and educate me. Somehow I convinced the most patient man in the universe to marry me. I suppose my years as a lawyer taught me something about persuasion after all!

Life these days is filled with exactly what I need - words, wanderlust, and the endless possibilities that sprout from both my garden and my imagination.
